Determination of genetic correlation between tobacco smoking and coronary artery disease

چکیده
Backgrounds Tobacco smoking is an important risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD), but the genetic mechanisms linking to CAD remain largely unknown. Methods We analyzed summary data from genome-wide association study (GWAS) of UK Biobank CAD, plasma lipid concentrations ( n = 184,305), and 337,030) using different biostatistical methods, which included LD score regression Mendelian randomization (MR). Results identified SNPs shared by at least one behavior, genes where these are located were found be significantly enriched in processes related lipoprotein metabolic, chylomicron-mediated transport, digestion, mobilization, transport. The MR analysis revealed a positive correlation between cessation decreased when was considered as exposure p 0.001), negative increased 2.95E-08). This further indicated that liability CAD. Conclusion These findings inform concomitant conditions support idea liabilities behaviors strongly associated with

Study of the correlation between ACE gene polymorphism and coronary artery disease
Introduction: Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is an exopeptidase that converts Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a potent vasoconstrictor and releases aldosterone, and have a critical role in hypertension. In this study, ACE insertion / deletion (I/D) polymorphism and ACE activity was determined in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and normal subjects. The corr...
متن کاملCorrelation Between Aortic Valve Sclerosis and Coronary Artery Disease: A Cross - Sectional Study
Introduction: Aortic valve sclerosisis considered as a manifestation of coronary atherosclerosis. Recent studies demonstrated an association between aortic valve sclerosis and obstructive coronary artery disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluatethe correlation betweenaortic valve sclerosis andobstructive coronary artery disease and the extent of coronary artery disease in patients ho...
متن کاملAssociation between Helicobacter pylori Infection and Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease
Background and Objectives: Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in developed countries. In addition to traditional risk factors for cardiovascular disease, nowadays, accumulating evidence indicates that a variety of infections contribute to pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, (We investigated whether Helicobacter pylori infection is related to Prevalence of coronar...
متن کاملRelationship between rs854560 PON1 Gene Polymorphism and Tobacco Smoking with Coronary Artery Disease
Paraoxonase-1 (PON1) is the antioxidant marker of high-density lipoproteins protecting against atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease (CAD) phenotype. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether the PON1 gene rs854560 polymorphism (163T>A) is associated with CAD in Polish population. rs854560 was genotyped in 494 subjects: 248 patients with premature CAD and 246 blood donors ...
